Cuba: Design Journal #2 Bacardi Building, Havana

Cuba: Design Journal #2 Bacardi Building, Havana đŸ’«Edificio Bacardi, Havana, is a stunning example of Art Deco architecture and design. A wealth of enamelled motifs, gold detailing, elaborate mirrors and beautiful geometric symmetry shine in the Bacardi building. Built in 1930 by Esteban RodrĂguez Castells and Rafael FernĂĄndez Ruenes, with a ziggurat bell tower and pink granite and limestone facade, it was originally the headquarters for the Bacardi rum company, but after the Cuban Revolution and Bacardi's exit from Cuba, it was used for offices. An absolute design highlight of Havana and 1930's design.
