Cuba: Design Journal #3 Cafe Bohemia, Old Havana 💫Tucked away under one of the striking arches of the 18th century Palacio de la Casa del Conde de Lombillo, on the beautiful Plaza Vieja, you will find the courtyard of Cafe Bohemia 💙 a gorgeous combination of Art Deco geometric, soaring arches and pretty balconies, this is the perfect spot to step out of the Cuban sun and into the blue for a delicious cocktail in this design haven of a courtyard, complete with macrame plant hangers and retro Bohemia magazine front covers. They also offer boutique rooms for overnight stays, finished with the same Bohemian/Cuban/Deco fusion 🌴
Importantly, the cafe was opened in memory of Cuban Journalist Ricardo Saenz, the editor of Bohemia magazine, founded in 1908. The magazine is a weekly publication, known for its political journalism and editorial writing, most notably for its support of the revolution against Batista's regime in the 1950's. The magazine has captured a century of the socio-political changes of this incredible country.
